Who we are
Stoop is a studio in Manchester built around a simple idea: great images begin with a deep understanding of light.
Founded and run by photographers and lighting technicians who know a thing or two about shaping a scene, Stoop is a space designed for craft, precision, and creative exploration. We understand how light behaves, how texture responds, and how form defines a frame — because we’ve spent years working with them.
Inspiration
Our direction is clear: light, texture, form.
Stoop is a studio rooted in materiality. Clean architectural lines are softened by natural elements — wood grain, fabric folds, and carefully considered surfaces that bring warmth and depth to every image. The space is shaped by handmade custom furniture and tactile details, creating an environment that feels both intentional and adaptable.
Every corner of the studio is designed to work with light rather than against it. Natural illumination moves through the space, interacting with textures and forms to create subtle variations, striking contrasts, and quiet moments of atmosphere. When complete control is needed, our full blackout system allows the studio to transform instantly — giving you total command of light and shadow, from soft natural diffusion to precisely crafted artificial setups.
Whether you’re producing editorial work, commercial campaigns, portraits, or experimental projects, Stoop provides a considered backdrop and a knowledgeable team who understand what makes an image work — from the first setup to the final frame.
We built Stoop as a working studio first: practical, flexible, and grounded in experience. But more than that, it’s a space for thoughtful image-making — where light reveals, texture speaks, and form leads.
Stoop — light, texture, form.
